Studio 1 Pitch

For my Studio 1 project, I will be modeling and lighting an environment inspired by the neon signs in Hong Kong and Tokyo. My career goal is to be a lighter so I wanted to create a mood piece that has many different sources and kinds of lights as a challenge for myself. The environment I will be creating is a city street with a focus on neon signs and night lighting. The composition and animation will feature close-ups of the lights and showcase details that pedestrians would not see. I will be modeling and lighting within Maya and then bringing my render passes into Nuke.

My goal for this project is to tell a story and convey mood through an intricate lighting piece that truly captures the indescribable feeling of being in the city under the neon lights.
