Week 2 / Class 4

For this class, I put together a new schedule for my team now that we added on another team member. For now, I have everything scheduled until midterm so I'm going to discuss with my team during class today to get a better understanding of what they believe their turnaround times will be and then finish the schedule till the end of the quarter. This format isn't really the best but I was just trying to get everything laid out so it is clear what everyone's tasks are and who has what file when.

I find it easier to work towards shorter deadlines so I wanted to make it clear in my schedule on what should be done for each presentation class (highlighted in red). Working in spans of two and half weeks and meeting those deadlines seems a little less daunting so I think it'll help us stay on pace for the end of the quarter.

Env_1 Shot List:

  1. Wide shot of large scale environment / camera is flying over and disappears into the trees (see Avatar opening scene in Class 2 cinematography references)

Env_2 Shot List (WIP):

  1. Fade in from black / wide shot of Env_2 starting on jungle floor / camera pans up to look up at winding branches and zooms slightly in (Tarzan)

  2. Camera follows along branch (Tarzan)

  3. Camera continues to follow along branches, down vines towards Hero Tree

  4. Camera rotates around trunk of hero tree / transition from day to night

  5. Camera follows along glowing ground

  6. Close up of glowing leaves / foliage

  7. Wide shot of Env_2 and camera slowly pulls back / cut to black

While I'm still thinking through some shots, my initial idea is to keep shots 2 and 3 up along the branches and then bring the camera back down the hero tree in shot 4 and then stay near the ground for shots 5 and 6 with our night lighting and bioluminescence.
