Week 9 / Class 18

For this class, I just worked on making some final touches. The changes I made for today were adjusting the material on the wheel well, increasing the intensity of the headlights in the beginning of Shot 3, and increasing the amount of light hitting the smoke from the right.

For the wheel well, I brought down the roughness on the baseboard material so it was a little more reflective and decreased the exposure of the ground projection so that the wheel wells weren't too bright but not completely dark.

The next thing I did was adjust the headlight interaction since I got the critique that they would like to see more headlight interaction in the first part of the scene. I had a blur on my headlight pass so I brought down the amount of blur and adjusted the grade on the alpha of the headlight pass. I then brought up the overall gain on the color correction to merge the pass into the background plate.

The next thing I did was increase the light hitting the smoke from the right using the light AOVs. Here is what the updated sequence looks like for the smoke now.

No Light AOVs: + Warm (right) light AOV

+ Cool (left) light AOV + Headlight AOV
